Pan-Seared Steak with Garlic Herb Butter
Pan-seared sirloin steak basted in a fragrant garlic-herb butter, served with crisp-tender steamed broccoli for a satisfying and savory meal.
INGREDIENTS
5.25 oz Sirloin steak
0.25 tbsp Ghee
0.25 tbsp Grass-fed butter
1 clove Garlic
1 tsp Fresh rosemary
1 tsp Fresh thyme
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
1.5 cups Broccoli florets
PREPARATION
Remove the steak from the refrigerator 20 minutes before cooking to bring it to room temperature.
Pat the steak completely dry with paper towels and season both sides evenly with sea salt and black pepper.
Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and add the ghee, swirling to coat the pan until it begins to shimmer.
Place the steak in the hot skillet and sear for 3 to 4 minutes without moving it to develop a deep brown crust.
Flip the steak and immediately add the grass-fed butter, minced garlic, rosemary, and thyme to the pan.
Tilt the pan slightly and use a spoon to continuously baste the steak with the melting herb butter for another 3 minutes.
Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest on a cutting board for at least 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
While the steak rests, steam the broccoli florets in a steamer basket for 4 to 5 minutes until they are bright green and tender.
Slice the steak against the grain and serve alongside the steamed broccoli, drizzling any remaining herb butter from the pan over the top.
