Slow-Cooked BBQ Pork Ribs
Slow-cooked pork ribs glazed in a tangy maple-mustard sauce, served alongside a crisp and refreshing vinegar-based cabbage slaw.
INGREDIENTS
12 oz Baby back pork ribs
1 tsp Smoked paprika
0.5 tsp Garlic powder
0.5 tsp Onion powder
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
2 tbsp Water
2 tbsp Tomato paste
1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp Coconut aminos
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp Maple syrup
1.5 cup Shredded cabbage mix
1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
1 tsp Extra virgin olive oil
PREPARATION
Pat the ribs dry and coat thoroughly with a rub made of smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, and black pepper.
Place the seasoned ribs in a slow cooker, add the water to the bottom, and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours until the meat is tender.
In a small bowl, whisk together the tomato paste, one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, coconut aminos, Dijon mustard, and maple syrup to create a clean BBQ sauce.
Carefully remove the ribs from the slow cooker, brush generously with the BBQ sauce, and place under a broiler for 3 to 5 minutes until the glaze is bubbly and slightly charred.
In a medium bowl, toss the shredded cabbage mix with the remaining apple cider vinegar and extra virgin olive oil to serve as a bright, crunchy side.
