Pan-Seared Steak Quesadillas
Pan-seared sirloin strips and sautéed bell peppers are folded into a crisp whole wheat tortilla with melted sharp cheddar for a savory, golden-brown finish.
INGREDIENTS
4 oz Sirloin steak
1 tsp Olive oil
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
0.25 tsp Garlic powder
0.25 cup Red bell pepper
0.25 cup Yellow onion
1 medium Whole wheat tortilla
1 oz Sharp cheddar cheese
PREPARATION
Slice the sirloin steak into thin strips and season with sea salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
Heat 0.5 tsp of olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the steak strips to the hot skillet and sear for 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through, then remove and set aside.
Add the remaining 0.5 tsp of olive oil to the same skillet and sauté the sliced bell peppers and onions until tender and slightly charred.
Wipe the skillet clean and place the tortilla inside over medium heat.
Layer the shredded cheddar cheese, seared steak, and sautéed vegetables on one half of the tortilla.
Fold the tortilla in half and cook for 2 minutes per side until the cheese is melted and the exterior is perfectly crisp.
