Add the seasoned chicken to the skillet and sear until golden brown on all sides, then remove the chicken and set it aside on a plate.
In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for about 1 minute until highly fragrant.
Pour in the tomato puree and add the remaining half of the spices, stirring well and simmering for 5 minutes on medium-low heat.
Whisk in the plain Greek yogurt until the sauce becomes a smooth, creamy orange consistency.
Return the seared chicken to the skillet and simmer for another 3-4 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
Serve the spiced butter chicken over the fluffy basmati rice and garnish with fresh chopped cilantro.
