Pan-Seared Steak with Roasted Asparagus
Pan-seared top sirloin steak cooked to a juicy finish, served with crispy roasted asparagus and a generous side of fluffy brown rice.
INGREDIENTS
4.75 oz Top sirloin steak
1 cup Cooked brown rice
1 cup Asparagus
1.75 tsp Olive oil
0.5 tsp Garlic powder
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
1 clove Garlic
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Trim the woody ends off the asparagus and toss the spears with 1 teaspoon of olive oil, the garlic powder, and a pinch of the sea salt.
Spread the asparagus on the prepared baking sheet and roast for 12 to 15 minutes until tender and slightly charred.
Season both sides of the steak with the remaining sea salt and black pepper.
Heat the remaining teaspoon of olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
Sear the steak for 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium-rare, adding the minced garlic to the pan during the final minute of cooking.
Allow the steak to rest for 5 minutes before slicing it against the grain.
Serve the sliced steak alongside the roasted asparagus and the warmed brown rice.
