Black Garlic Tahini Tofu Bowl
Pan-seared tofu slabs served over creamy mashed potatoes and tender broccoli, drizzled with a rich, umami-packed black garlic and tahini dressing.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz Extra firm tofu
1 cup Cooked broccoli
1 tbsp Mashed potatoes
0.5 tsp Tahini
1 whole Black garlic clove
1 tsp Tamari
1 tsp Rice vinegar
0.25 tsp Garlic powder
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
1 tsp Water
PREPARATION
Press the extra firm tofu with a clean towel to remove excess moisture, then slice into 1/2-inch thick slabs.
Season the tofu slabs evenly on both sides with garlic powder, sea salt, and black pepper.
In a small bowl, mash the black garlic clove into a smooth paste using the back of a spoon.
Whisk the tahini, tamari, rice vinegar, and water into the black garlic paste until a smooth, pourable dressing forms.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and sear the tofu for 4-5 minutes per side until golden and crisp.
Warm the leftover mashed potatoes and cooked broccoli in the microwave or a separate pan until heated through.
Place the mashed potatoes in the base of a bowl, top with the seared tofu and broccoli, and drizzle the black garlic tahini sauce over everything.
