Double Bacon Cheeseburger
Pan-seared lean beef patties layered with crispy center-cut bacon and melted sharp cheddar on a toasted sprouted bun for a savory and satisfying bite.
INGREDIENTS
3 oz Ground beef (93% lean)
0 slices Center-cut bacon
1 slice Sharp cheddar cheese
1 whole Sprouted grain bun
2 leaves Butter lettuce
2 slices Tomato
1 slice Red onion
1 tbsp Yellow mustard
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
PREPARATION
Place the bacon slices in a cold skillet and turn the heat to medium. Cook until crispy, then set aside on a paper towel to drain.
Divide the ground beef into two equal portions and form them into thin, wide patties. Season both sides of each patty with sea salt and black pepper.
In the same skillet used for the bacon, drain most of the fat and increase the heat to medium-high. Sear the patties for 3-4 minutes per side until fully cooked.
During the last minute of cooking, place the cheddar cheese slice on one patty and stack the second patty directly on top to melt the cheese.
Lightly toast the sprouted grain bun in the skillet or a toaster until golden brown.
Spread yellow mustard on the bottom bun, then layer with butter lettuce, tomato, and red onion.
Place the double patty stack on the vegetables, top with the crispy bacon, and finish with the top bun.
