Seared Steak and Pepper Quesadillas
Tender steak strips seared with crisp bell peppers and onions, folded into a golden-brown tortilla with melted sharp cheddar for a satisfying crunch.
INGREDIENTS
5 oz Top sirloin steak
1 medium Flour tortilla
0.5 cup Bell pepper
0.25 cup Red onion
0.75 oz Sharp cheddar cheese
0.5 tsp Avocado oil
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
0.25 tsp Garlic powder
PREPARATION
Slice the top sirloin steak into very thin strips and season evenly with sea salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
Thinly slice the bell peppers and red onions into strips.
Heat half of the avocado oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sauté the peppers and onions until they are softened and slightly charred.
Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set aside; add the remaining oil and sear the steak strips for 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through.
Wipe the skillet clean, place the tortilla in the pan, and sprinkle half of the cheese over one side.
Layer the seared steak and sautéed vegetables over the cheese, top with the remaining cheese, and fold the tortilla in half.
Cook for 2 minutes per side until the tortilla is golden-brown and the cheese is completely melted, then slice into wedges and serve.
