Pan-Seared Steak with Garlic Herb Rice
Tender top sirloin pan-seared to a juicy finish and served over aromatic garlic-infused jasmine rice with crisp roasted asparagus.
INGREDIENTS
5 oz Top sirloin steak
0.25 cup Jasmine rice
0.5 cup Water
1 tsp Olive oil
1 tsp Ghee
1 clove Garlic
1 cup Asparagus
0.25 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
1 tsp Fresh parsley
PREPARATION
Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water and combine with water in a small saucepan; bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer covered for 15 minutes.
Pat the steak dry with paper towels and season both sides evenly with sea salt and black pepper.
Heat the olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat until it begins to shimmer.
Place the steak in the hot skillet and sear for 4 minutes per side for a medium-rare finish, then transfer to a plate to rest.
Add the asparagus to the same skillet and sauté for 3 to 5 minutes until tender-crisp and bright green.
Fold the ghee, minced garlic, and chopped fresh parsley into the cooked rice until well combined and fragrant.
Slice the rested steak against the grain and serve immediately alongside the garlic herb rice and sautéed asparagus.
