Pan-Seared Steak Salad with Balsamic Tomatoes
Tender sirloin steak pan-seared to juicy perfection and served over a bed of crisp greens with tangy balsamic-glazed tomatoes and sharp red onions.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz Top sirloin steak
1.5 tsp Avocado oil
0.5 tsp Sea salt
0.25 tsp Black pepper
2 cups Mixed baby greens
0.5 cup Cherry tomatoes
1 tbsp Balsamic vinegar
0.5 tsp Extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsp Red onion
0.5 cup Cucumber
PREPARATION
Season the steak with sea salt and black pepper on both sides.
Heat avocado oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
Place the steak in the hot skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare.
Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes.
While the steak rests, halve the cherry tomatoes and slice the red onion and cucumber.
In a small bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil.
Toss the mixed baby greens, tomatoes, cucumber, and onion in a large bowl with the dressing.
Slice the rested steak against the grain into thin strips.
Top the salad with the steak slices and serve immediately.
