Welcome to Muscle Burns Fat! This 6 week program uses dumbbells only, making it ideal for home or the gym.
There’s three full body workouts each week, combining compound and isolation exercises to maximize strength gains, muscle growth, and fat burning.
Between working, mom-ing and life-ing, I wouldn’t have time if it took longer than 45 minutes so I’ve used my skills as a certified Personal Trainer and knowledge as an exercise science nerd, to design the BEST GYM PROGRAM busy people can do at home!
Each circuit (combo set) includes four exercises and there’s two circuits in each workout. Move one exercise to the next in each circuit, pausing just long enough to catch your breath and feel ready to move on. Yes, you’ll still build muscle at this pace because the shoulders get a break during your 30 second rest AND while training the back, legs and biceps, for example.
This method of training reduces total workout time and removes the boredom some people experience with traditional straight sets.
Before you start, I want to answer the two most common questions I get about this program:
1. Why just two leg exercises per workout?
Completing all three full body workouts each week provides 18 working sets for legs (24 if following advanced). Exercise science shows that 10-20 sets per week are required for muscle growth.
2. Three, 45 minute sessions - are you sure it’s enough?
If you feel like you can do MORE, it suggests to me that you need to increase your dumbbell weight. If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you!

I have never been challenged at such a doable level… even completed all but one workout throughout wedding planning & daughter’s wedding while she lived here! Im hooked for myself & how much easier i can lift and play with my 2yo grandson. I rewatch the videos almost every time to assure my form is correct. I listen to my body and increase as i feel i can wt or reps and back down with imbalances that could lead to injury. Clothes fit better! My posture in photos was much better too! Hello. I am coming to the end of my second challenge and will definitely be signing up for the next one. I started following Cheryl’s YouTube videos in October and really liked them. I had gained a bit of weight over the last year or so and needed to make some changes. I should mention that I am 62. When I first heard about the challenge I didn’t think it would be any different than the YouTube videos so I was resistant to try it. After reading some testimonials I decided to join for the first time in January 2026. Well was I wrong! I initially lost 6 pounds but the scale has remained stuck. In the past this would have sent me into a spiral but not anymore. Through the tracking I can see in black and white how strong I am getting. I have definition in my arms like never before and I can now get on and zipped a pair of shorts I could barely get over my hips in January. The tracking is a game changer for pushing myself to lift heavier. I don’t actively participate in the community but I read the posts daily and they absolutely motivate me. I would 100% recommend Cheryl and her program. Thank you for letting me see that I wasn’t just getting old and needed to be resigned to covering up my body.

I’m on challenge 4 and I’m finally back to being completely consistent after some horrible symptoms derailed me, and the results are the proof! I’m stronger, my muscle definition is coming back and my clothes are fitting better again. The 3 lift days are so doable and it provides flexibility for when life happens.
