Welcome to Muscle Burns Fat! This 6 week program uses dumbbells only, making it ideal for home or the gym. 

There’s three full body workouts each week, combining compound and isolation exercises to maximize strength gains, muscle growth, and fat burning.

Between working, mom-ing and life-ing, I wouldn’t have time if it took longer than 45 minutes so I’ve used my skills as a certified Personal Trainer and knowledge as an exercise science nerd, to design the BEST GYM PROGRAM busy people can do at home!

Each circuit (combo set) includes four exercises and there’s two circuits in each workout. Move one exercise to the next in each circuit, pausing just long enough to catch your breath and feel ready to move on. Yes, you’ll still build muscle at this pace because the shoulders get a break during your 30 second rest AND while training the back, legs and biceps, for example.

This method of training reduces total workout time and removes the boredom some people experience with traditional straight sets.

Before you start, I want to answer the two most common questions I get about this program:

1. Why just two leg exercises per workout?
Completing all three full body workouts each week provides 18 working sets for legs (24 if following advanced). Exercise science shows that 10-20 sets per week are required for muscle growth. 

2. Three, 45 minute sessions - are you sure it’s enough?
If you feel like you can do MORE, it suggests to me that you need to increase your dumbbell weight. If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you!

We may be working out at home but we’re not alone, we’re doing this together! See you in the workout.

My experience with the workout portion of this program is great, and it's keeping me on track. I don't recommend the upgrade to use the meal tracking portion if you cook custom meals that you want to track. You can't put in macros for those. If your meals are super simple its good.

I am on the second week. I don't have enough weights at home to push my muscles. So I am going to the gym now. There's some of the exercises that I don't want to do in front of people. You know, like the glute lift so I'll just find a machine that I can use the same muscles. I like this program because it gives me structure and it's easy enough to follow and easy to record repetitions/weights in the app. I also like that I don't have to be perfect. I'm trusting this process will give me body composition changes.

Amazing program with Cheryl. She is supporting all of us with such pertinent informations. 3 workouts/week is fitting perfectly in my sked and I love making time for it. The group support is also very important when feeling down or good. It’s a safe space to share and learn even more from other experiences . I had to take some time off to heal an inflammation but I stayed near by to continue to follow all the details and progress Cheryl shares. I am glad to be back! This program is taking me to the next level and I'm only at the beginning of the second week. I followed Cheryl Coulumbe's @liftwithCee videos on YouTube 3x a week for 8 months (30 & 40 minute sessons) before starting the Build it. Burn it. Program. Her program coaching tips are straightforward and changed how I push myself at each interval. Cheryl's coaching changed lifting from a physical challenge to a mental challenge. When you know, you know. I crossed over and I'm not going back. This is a topnotch program! Other things that enhanced this experience as a 59 year old woman - I do yoga before lifting. Also seeing Midi Health online for hormone health as I have a good primary care doctor, but needed hormone specialist who is more concerned with how I feel than a fixed, min-max range. No more feeling like I'm begging for help. Kicking up my testosterone prescription I no longer feel held back physically.
