Welcome to Muscle Burns Fat! This 6 week program uses dumbbells only, making it ideal for home or the gym. 

There’s three full body workouts each week, combining compound and isolation exercises to maximize strength gains, muscle growth, and fat burning.

Between working, mom-ing and life-ing, I wouldn’t have time if it took longer than 45 minutes so I’ve used my skills as a certified Personal Trainer and knowledge as an exercise science nerd, to design the BEST GYM PROGRAM busy people can do at home!

Each circuit (combo set) includes four exercises and there’s two circuits in each workout. Move one exercise to the next in each circuit, pausing just long enough to catch your breath and feel ready to move on. Yes, you’ll still build muscle at this pace because the shoulders get a break during your 30 second rest AND while training the back, legs and biceps, for example.

This method of training reduces total workout time and removes the boredom some people experience with traditional straight sets.

Before you start, I want to answer the two most common questions I get about this program:

1. Why just two leg exercises per workout?
Completing all three full body workouts each week provides 18 working sets for legs (24 if following advanced). Exercise science shows that 10-20 sets per week are required for muscle growth. 

2. Three, 45 minute sessions - are you sure it’s enough?
If you feel like you can do MORE, it suggests to me that you need to increase your dumbbell weight. If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you!

We may be working out at home but we’re not alone, we’re doing this together! See you in the workout.

When I started this program, my goal was to lose weight. That hasn't happened (yet)... I've actually gained a pound and am NOT mad about it. Because, what HAS happened has been absolutely life-changing. In a couple of months, I'll be 57 years old. Since starting Lift & Burn 5 weeks ago, I've lost fat and gained muscle, I'm starting to see abs and jawline for the first time in many, many years. I'm proud to look in the mirror and no longer feel compelled to hide my body. I went shopping for a dress for my son's grad and actually looked for one that would show off my arms (whaaat?!) I'm a life-long under eater but now hit my macros daily. The unseen things I am MOST excited about? I had been lifting weights on my own for a few years very inconsistently. I used a weightlifting journal/workbook with prepared workouts and coaching segments to read. It was really helpful to get me started and comfortable in the gym. I wasn't seeing the results that I wanted and decided it was time to sign up with Cee. This program with Cee has been a game changer for me. Post menopause I have struggled with finding the right way to keep my body strong and my metabolism from the downward spiral. As a physician I know this is often how we women start to unwind health wise and really start to age quickly. I have tried several things on my journey-HIIT workouts, bootcamp, pilates, cardio which I used to love but post menopause exhausts me and didn't seem to help. This program is so elegantly simple but so well thought out to maximize the outcome. Cheryl is such a good trainer who is always educating as to the "why" with evidence based information, always updating in real time using very reliable sources which is so important in a time when it is difficult to sift through all the information that technology makes available. Her nutritional program is simple and easy to follow focusing on real whole foods not some complicated fad program which requires buying a lot of supplements. This is a program designed for women for the long haul to improve strength, function, bone density and longevity and the way we think about aging. Additionally, the community of women is such a positive and, for me, unexpected benefit. So encouraging to see these women from everywhere just like me encouraging one another and getting it done. She’s the best trainer I’ve ever had - even comparing to long term in-person personal trainers. The lifts are standard, but the community aspect is shockingly encouraging. I haven’t lifted this heavy since 30 years ago. Cheryl provides more coaching and science backed evidence for her method than any other coach. Her experience really shows. Love the programmes have done all of them. They definitely work if you follow the plan and the format is easy to follow and allows for other exercise within the week with it being 3 full body. Cheryl inputs a lot of information. I am disappointed that the new annual subscription does not allow you to keep access to the challenges or I would have signed up I feel it has been done this way to encourage you to then keep on signing up each year, it is quite expensive though so I will not be subscribing. Perhaps if this is altered in the future I would subscribe. The price is increasing every challenge which is disappointing as there are more people doing the challenges so it should not need to increase at such a level.

This challenge is really hard but that is exactly what makes it successful. Having the roadmap laid out by Cheryl with guide posts and information along the way and just the BEST community cheering each other on. It's the only place I've been where so many women want each other to win so badly, it's far more motivating than I expected. Enough so that in spite of current circumstances I've signed up for the year subscription. I have more than enough medical issues and continuing this journey is one thing I can do to improve my longevity and the consistency helps keep my spoons accounted for.

This is my first challenge with Cheryl after having followed her for a while on IG. I had just come off a 12 week, 4 split days per week + cardio program with an in person trainer due to some back issues and was looking for something to challenge yet respect both my (mature) body, busy schedule and lower my stress.
